「3.11以後、私は涙もろくなったような気がする。中原氏の悲報に涙した、その涙は私自身が納得できる涙である。しかし、3.11以後に涙するのは、今までに経験したことのない涙である。つまり、自分なりに理解できる理由や意味が不明確なまま何故か泣けてくるのである。それは泣くと言う形容だけでは収まらない、（中略）言葉だけでは表現しつくせない涙である。その涙は、涙の質そのものがまさに変質してしまったかのような涙なのではなかろうか。」（河口龍夫テキスト『「涙」の「質」をめぐって』より抜粋）

“Since 3/11, I seem to be moved to tears more easily than before. I understood my reason for crying upon hearing the sad news of Nakahara’s death. But the tears I have shed after 3/11 are the typed of tears that I had never experienced before. That is to say, I just shed tears without knowing the exact reason and meaning that I can reason to myself with. My condition cannot simply be described with the word “crying.” (...)
